Deepika Padukone : Giving up has never been an option
In this Exclusive warm and intimate interview with CINEBUSTER, at her spacious apartment in Prabhadevi over a mug of coffee, “DEEPIKA PADUKONE” opens up with “NISHA VERMA”, that she goes by her instincts when she sets out to produce films as a filmmaker and exults that she is happy and excited that her film “CHHAPAAK” The Untold Story on Laxmi Agarwal and also speaks about her career, her wedding and Ranveer Singh like never before. She is diminutive but her height has never deterred the power house performer from displaying her histrionics in front of the camera. Things are just about settling down. Life is coming back to normal. She finds contentment in marriage. It’s early days yet, sure. But she’s loving the idea of waking up with someone beside her. She’s also liking playing the wife, seeing Ranveer off to work, calling him to find out what time he’ll be home, what he’ll have for dinner. These are new experiences and she’s enjoying herself.
Last decade you have given us amazing films and from this decade you’re starting from film “CHHAPAAK”, What kind of start you want this year ?
I think I have learned a lot from past 10 years, I have been evolved and growth and I want the next 10-20 years to go like this. As a person and as an actor I want to grow constantly, because I think otherwise you stagnant and even I get bored of this character, I personally want changes in myself as an actor and profession and henceforth, I think I can keep learning, evolving and growing. At start people didn’t adore my acting but I didn’t took it as a negative way, people used to criticise me but I always took it as a positive way. The truth is that I chose not to believe this myth. People can whisper both positive and negative ideas into your ear, and to our detriment, we sometimes listen to the negative. I heard it all, the supportive and unsupportive comments. I think all these credit goes to sports because Athlete has thought me how to handle every situation whether it’s defeat, success or failure. I feel it was the discipline, hard work, and dedication that I learned in pursuit of sports.
There was a time in Bollywood when actresses were very sceptical doing such types of role, what do you think about your decision, whether could be a game changer because this is a very bold step taken by any big actresses ?
