Desi entertainer ‘Khaali Peeli’ drops a teaser

“Ek डेढ़ शना, ek तीखी छुरी, ek taxi aur ek mad ride!” Here comes the garma-garam teaser of #KhaaliPeeli starring Ishaan Khatter and Ananya Panday. It’s an out and out masala teaser and the movie promises to be a desi entertainer. In Khaali Peeli Ishaan and Ananya will share the screen for the first time. This romantic action film is directed by Maqbool Khan.

It is understood that Khaali Peeli is inspired from a Telugu film Taxiwaala. In fact it’s a remake. The story is about two childhood sweethearts Pooja and Blackie who gets separated due to certain circumstances when they were kids. Pooja, who is now a prostitute, decides to escape the brothel on turning 18, with a bag full of  stolen money. She bumps into Blackie who is now a very ‘chalu’ Mumbai taxi driver. He agrees to ‘drive’ her to freedom, in exchange for a hefty amount. This leads to a series of chase and escape, with the goons on Pooja’s trail and the cops on the goons’ trail.

Ananya Panday and Ishaan Khatter will be seen in the lead roles while Jaideep Ahlawat and Satish Kaushik lend support in the acting department. Khaali Peeli, which was to have a theatrical release this year but it could not due to Covid 19 pandemic crisis. Now it will be released digitally.
