Devdatta Nage builds traditional Mud-Fort in his backyard, keeps the tradition alive
Diwali is the festival of lights, the festival of meeting family and friends, sitting together and having the Diwali delicacies together. Another feature of this festival is building forts. It has been a tradition that the children of the house make Mud-Forts to salute Maratha Kingdom’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. But with modernisation of ‘people’, this tradition is on a diminishing line.
The old tradition of replicating various forts in Maharashtra seems to be losing its importance in the present age of ‘smartphones’. Devdatta Nage, a well-known actor in the Doctor Don serial on Zee Yuva, has shared a clay replica of Maharaj’s fort in his backyard with fans on social media.
Actor Devdatta Nage as Deva from the Doctor Don serial is ruling the hearts of audiences in Maharashtra. He paid homage to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and shared photos of the earthen replica of the fort. Devdatta is a native of Alibag. He built this beautiful fort in the courtyard of his house and also expressed his regret. Deva has lamented on social media that Halloween (An American tradition) photos are seen in excess than Mud-Forts (the Maharashtrian Diwali tradition).
Fans are showering with likes and comments on the photos of Devdatta Nage’s Mud-Fort.
