Director Aditya Suhas Jambhale talks about his film, ‘Article 370’!
In a recent interview, Director #AdityaSuhasJambhale shares compelling details about his upcoming political thriller, ‘#Article370,’ featuring #YamiGautam in a pivotal role. The film promises to uncover the most significant covert operation in India, based on true events, and stands as a story every Indian must know.
Addressing skepticism surrounding the film, Jambhale emphasizes that ‘Article 370’ reflects his belief in the creation of ‘one India’ following the 2019 abrogation. He asserts that the covert operation portrayed in the film adds a powerful narrative to the story.
Jambhale reveals that the genesis of the film took place during the shooting of his supernatural project, ‘Baramulla.’ Producer Aditya Dhar’s trust in Jambhale’s ability to handle sensitive subjects led to the development of ‘Article 370.’ Reflecting on his experience shooting in Kashmir, Jambhale notes the positive changes in the region’s tourism and the booming film production.
Assured by producer Aditya Dhar’s faith, the National Award-winning filmmaker boldly shot scenes for ‘Article 370’ in unconventional locations, including Downtown Srinagar, with the support of local authorities and residents.
As the film delves into the subject of the abrogation of Article 370, a move considered a significant win for the current government, questions arise about the film’s balanced perspective, especially in an election year. Jambhale responds, “Article 370 deals with the local Kashmiri feeling. On the ground, it has impacted the life of a person selling things on a shikara on Dal Lake.” He further emphasizes the film’s focus on the fascinating covert operation that normalized the most militarized zone, portraying a powerful story of unity.
Regarding the film’s release in an election year, Jambhale states, “We have the right intent. It reiterates that India is one. People tell us that it’s for the sake of elections, and we tell them, ‘Go, watch the film.’ As a filmmaker, I want to have an opinion. I support the decision of Article 370 being made redundant and creating one India. Unless I believe in it, I cannot make it.”
‘Article 370’ is set to release on 23rd February, offering audiences a thought-provoking and riveting cinematic experience.
