‘Dosti Anokhi’ actor Ismeet Kohli says, ‘With the support of my co-actor Naman Arora I have got the dialect right’!

Sony Entertainment Television’s slice of life drama ‘#JagannathAurPurviKiDostiAnokhi’ has been receiving immense love from the audience for its heartwarming narrative revolving around a unique and innocent friendship cemented between two individuals – a millennial, Purvi and an elderly gentleman, #JagannathMishra. In the on-going track, viewers have witnessed how in the test of relationship ‘an outsider’ proves to be better than one’s own. From Purvi selling her jewellery for Jagannath’s surgery to helping him recover, her thoughtful gesture has deeply moved and made a special place in Jagannath and Kusum Mishra’s heart so much so that they have address Purvi as the daughter of the house. The character of Purvi portrayed by Ismeet Kohli is dil se Banarasi and to bring alive this vibrant character to life, Ismeet has been religiously taking lessons from her co-actors to get the shudh Hindi diction right.

Talking about her experience, Ismeet Kohli said, “Playing the character of Purvi in Dosti Anokhi has given me a chance to learn a lot over the course of time. When it comes to reading the script and comprehending the lines before getting in front of the camera, initially I used to find it slightly difficult because of the use of shudh Hindi, but with the support of my co-actor Naman Arora and a little pre-production research and reading, I am have got the dialect right. My crew is quite helpful, since they are always willing to help me with any word or phrase in the script. I can easily approach anyone and ask for assistance, which has simplified the procedure. After packing up, I watch a few YouTube videos on language improvement and read shudh Hindi stories and articles to improve my command of the language. I’m confident that I’ll become an expert at it in some point. I’m thrilled to be a part of this show, which not only allows me to enhance my acting skills but also to improve my language and dialect.”
