During the shooting of ‘#Jayanti’ a sudden incident brought #MilindShinde too close to death!

The Corona pandemic had devastated the entire world bringing all the businesses and industries to a stand-still. The condition at Marathi film industry also deteriorated and the filming schedules and distribution were closed. However with time the conditions improved and restrictions were relaxed. The shooting schedules for films and TV series were back on track and continued.

The schedules for new as well as those projects which were left incomplete due to lockdown began slowly after unlock. The work on the remaining portion of an ensuing film which was left incomplete had started in all sincerity. The film has an important role being played by none other than senior actor Milind Shinde well known and admired for his roles as a villain. Actor Milind Shinde is also known for his true to role actions as well as wits. During the shooting of this film a sudden incident brought him too close to death.

With the start of shooting after a long anxious interval, everyone was in a great mood. With all the heavy items of equipment such as flood lights, Jimmy Jib Cranes and multi-camera set up, the shooting was to start for a night shift. As usual Milind Shinde was totally engrossed in preparing for his role and naturally was unaware of what was happening around. Jimmy Jib camera set up and the camera team was busy practicing shots in a comparatively dim light.

For the scene to be filmed it was essential for Jimmy Jib Crane to suddenly drop height. The camera team was working on the precise speed with which the crane was to descend. The team was also totally engrossed in the task at hand and no one around could sense that Milind Shinde was standing exactly in the direction in which the crane was to come down at speed. However, the alert Jimmy Jib crane operator saw Milind Shinde in the line and suddenly tried to control the crane changing direction. Milind Shinde also bent down at the same moment and within a fraction of a second was saved. A huge disaster was averted due to the alertness and agility of the Jimmy Jib crane operator.

Speaking about the incident, Actor Milind Shinde says, “If a great work is destined to happen at our hands, even the shadow of a hazard cannot touch you…! In the same way I was totally engrossed in preparation for my role and as such I was totally unaware of anything going around at the moment even like a huge Jimmy Jib crane during the time of the night we were working..! Had I not bent at the moment, the heavy iron would have heavily wounded me. However it was the positive energy at the sets I did not have even a scratch. Alertness of the people on the sets saved my life. I appreciate the care and concern shown by everyone on the sets to see that I did not get hurt.

With an exceptional title, the film is set to become talk of the town and with the hair-raising incident with Milind Shinde, the discussions about this film have reached the top. It was most fortunate that Milind Shinde escaped totally unhurt. Director of the film Shailesh Narwade said that it was due to alertness of colleagues on the set that an otherwise adverse hazard was averted.
