Ekta Jain : An exciting journey from modelling to acting to production!

Having come to Mumbai when she was in school was a blessing in disguise for actress #EktaJain. Her life changed completely after coming to Mumbai. When she was in 10th std. Ekta got an opportunity to be a model. Next to her school used to a fashion institute and the trainee students used to approach her and a other few to display their creations at fashion shows. As she was getting good pocket money out of it, she was okay with it. This was a stepping stone for Ekta to be part of the glittering entertainment industry. These small fashion shows led to bigger ones with reputed fashion designers, including #ManishMalhotra, and her life already was on a fast track.

While doing these fashion shows it was noticed that she didn’t have stage fright and was offered to do plays. Ekta has done many plays, at an amateur level, in multiple languages including, Hindi, Hinglish, Gujarati, Sanskrit which honed her talent in acting and was a stepping stone for her acting career. One thing led to another and she was offered her first television show. She started acting in ‘Naina’ which had Smita Bansal playing lead and there has been no looking back since. Ekta has done many successful television shows like, Shagun, Shakalaka Boom Boom, Family No. 1, Apun To Bus Vaise Hi, Kahi Diya Jale Kahi Jiya, Gayatri Mahima, Ganga Maiyya etc. Incidentally she has done family as well as mythological serials in abundance.

She is playing a police officer in an upcoming film ‘Shatranj’ which is directed by Dushyant Kumar Singh and apart from Ekta stars Hiten Tejwani, Kavita Tripathi, Hemant Pandey, Rajkumar Kanojia, Ashitosh Kaushik and Zain Khan.

Ekta is playing a cop with 2 stars who is a non-nonsense cop. It’s a very strong character and she has worked hard to get into the skin of the character. Apart from indulging in rigorous fitness training she watched quite a few female cop movie to get her role right. She rates Rekha’s and Rani Mukherjee’s cop roles very high and definitely has taken some inspiration while performing in ‘Shatranj’.

Ekta Jain is thankful to director Dushyant Singh for guiding her in the right direction so that her role is unmissable in the film. In fact two of her films, Trahimam’ and Shatranj’ will be releasing simultaneously on the same day which will be a proud moment for her.
