FNP media’s special theme for the month of July is अब-normal!

#VikaasGutgutia, founder of #FNPMedia, an exclusive platform for short films has surprised the audience once again. The short films that are being streamed in the platform has been getting encouraging responses. The platform has now started having a theme every month. Now FNP is ready with the month of July with the theme अब-normal. Speaking about the July month’s theme Simmi Karna the content head of FNP says,”अब-normal is identical to abnormal/Atrangi. We live in scary times. Where public shaming or saving face in society is a matter of pride & prejudice. Ab-Normal is a deeply rooted theme that explores all odds. It will be a trendsetter to change your opinion and perspectives.” There are two films which will be releasing this month Almariyaan on 9th July and The Pill on 23rd July.

Simmi adds,”I feel both these films are disruptive, far-reaching & necessary subject of our times. According to Gleeden, India’s 1st extramarital dating app nearly 48 % mom’s have a secret life (Extra marital affair). Research also says, 55% of couples have cheated on their spouses atleast 1 time in their life span. This film reflects the liberation from the dual nature of our society. It showcases the complexity that has crept into our relationships. It depicts the superficial world we live in. I must say, I have experienced the saddest generation posting happy pictures on social media. Whereas Almariyaan deals with the social stigma. Few sections of society still do not approve of it. They operate as a separate entity under democracy. This film portrays the arduous journey of a protagonist who has the same dreams, aspirations & goals to lead a happy life as any other human.”

Vikas Gutgutia says,” June is celebrated all over the world as Pride month. It’s a tribute and to draw attention to the issues that members of the community still face. The exploration of one’s identity is central to the coming-of-age experience, whether it be religious, sexual, political, or personal. There is ambiguity in this exploration and queer cinema celebrates this ambiguity. Cinema, in its reflection of people, helps to unpack some of the complexities faced by many. In honor of Pride Month, we at FNP Media have a special theme for this month, “अब-normal” (Now-Normal). The thought behind this is to aim and make the movement more gender-inclusive and gain more acceptance. Over time we have realized that this genre is quickly increasing in popularity, it seeks to educate the clueless, normalize the queer experience, and extend empathy to those desperate to know that they are not alone.”
