‘Ganapati Bappa Morya’, says team ‘Almost Sufal Sampurn‘

Marathi television artists share their memories and views on Ganapati festival, especially this year’s. Zee Yuiva’s Almost Sufal Sampurn‘s Nikhil Damle, Sunil Godbole and Gauri Kulkarni open their hearts about Bappa.
Nikhil Damle (Almost Sufal Sampurn – Zee Yuva)
Ganapati Bappa is most loved god by children and elders alike. Even I am fond of Bappa and have an anecdote to share. In my schooldays I used to go out with my parents to watch Pune’s famous Ganapatis. Because of the short stature then I could not see idols standing. So my father used to pick me up and sitting on his shoulders I used to watch various ‘Murties’ and used to be very excited.
At present I am in Mumbai for the shoot of Almost Sufal Sampurn and can not go to Pune. But due to corona there won’t be lavish celebrations this year. I request all my fans to avoid going in crowded places and stay safe.
Sunil Godbole (Almost Sufal Sampurn – Zee Yuva)
I always look forward to this festival. Every year I make arrangements to welcome Ganapati Bappa. But this year things are extremely different and scary. No public celebrations are allowed and one should avoid it too. Keeping safe distance, avoiding crowded public places, is the order of the day.
Everyone should keep in mind that if you take care of yourself others’ care is automatically taken.
We should show restraint this year because this pandemic will hopefully will not be present next year and we can celebrate massively next year.
Gauri Kulkarni (Almost Sufal Sampurn – Zee Yuva)
We have 10 days Ganapati at our home, every year.  I have innumerable memories of this. Whether it is to make a beautiful decoration for Bappa, whether it is to make Modak or to sing aartis, I vividly remember many. The entire family celebrates this festival with much fanfare. Everybody in the family looks forward to this festival. A lot of my relatives visit but this year it’ll not be possible due to lockdowns and corona threat. We are going to celebrate this year in simplest of ways. I urge everyone to abide by the rules laid down by the authorities and stay safe. Let’s welcome Bappa with happiness in the heart.
