‘Gauna Ek Pratha’ actor Parvati Sehgal says, “I perform with all my inputs and under the guidance of the director”!
Get ready for the highly anticipated premiere of #ShemarooUmang’s show, “#GaunaEkPratha,” which July 10th. This thought provoking and captivating series invites viewers on a remarkable journey of Gehna, a determined and self-motivated individual who is on a quest to find her beloved husband, Gaurav, and complete the final ritual of their long-awaited wedding—the Gauna ceremony. As Gehna strives to fulfill this sacred tradition, she encounters an intriguing obstacle in the form of Urvashi, a strong-willed and ambitious woman with a grand vision of transforming Patna into the next Paris.
Parvati Sehgal, the talented actress, will be mesmerising the audiences with her portrayal of the cunning Urvashi in the show, but this is not her first time stepping into negative roles, as she has gracefully portrayed such characters in her past projects.
When asked about her potential fears of being typecasted, Parvati confidently expressed her perspective on the matter and said “I have played negative roles back to back, but I am merely bringing to life a character that is the creation of someone else’s imagination, the writer. I perform the role with all my inputs and preparation under the guidance of the director. An example that resonates with me is Mr. Anupam Kher, a phenomenal actor we all admire. When he entered showbiz, one of his earliest roles was that of an old man in the movie Saaransh. If he had limited himself by thinking about typecasting, he wouldn’t have reached the heights he has achieved. We have witnessed him leave his mark in a variety of roles. Acting is pretending. Pretending to be someone you are not. It is a “make believe” profession. it does not define the persons I am. I am open to any role that comes my way, positive or negative, in addition of good story and concept, provided it gives me ample opportunity to innovate and explore my acting abilities. My aim is to give my best, and if someone truly dislikes the character I play, I believe I’m doing my job well. Appreciation is a reward higher than any institutionalised awar.”
Parvati Sehgal’s portrayal of Urvashi is sure to leave a lasting impression. Catch her in action in Gauna Ek Pratha as the show unfolds, allowing her talent to shine. Starting 10th July every Monday to Saturday at 9:30 PM, exclusively on Shemaroo Umang.
