Sharing their qualifications, &TV artists talk about the stories of their academic experiences. These include Neha Joshi (Krishna Devi Vajpayee, Atal), Ashutosh Kulkarni (Krishan) from Atal, Himani Shivpuri (Katori Amma), Yogesh Tripathi (Happu Singh) from Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, and Aasif Sheikh (Vibhuti Narayan Mishra), Shubhangi Atre (Angoori Bhabi) from Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai).
Neha Joshi, Krishna Devi Vajpayee in &TV’s Atal, shared, “Immersed in the captivating world of storytelling, I spread my wings by achieving a BA in theatre. For me, every role transforms into a stage, and every performance unfolds a story woven with the threads of theatrical wisdom. Theatre education isn’t just a qualification; it’s an ongoing adventure of breathing life into characters.”
Yogesh Tripathi, Daroga Happu Singh in &TV’s Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, revealed, “Away from the spotlight, I have a grounding in numbers, with a BSC in Mathematics from Bundelkhand University, Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh. Whether dealing with intricate equations or portraying complex characters, my education moulds the accuracy and enthusiasm I infuse into every performance. Mathematics and acting come together in a harmonious blend of calculated expression on the stage.”
Aasif Sheikh, Vibhuti Narayan Mishra in &TV’s Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain, shared, “Commencing with a Bachelor of Arts in English Honours, I later discovered my fascination for hospitality and did Hotel Management at Khalsa College, Delhi. Despite these shifts, the allure of theatre and acting beckoned, leading me to veer away from conventional degrees to pursue my passion wholeheartedly. Education transcends classrooms and degrees; it’s an enduring journey of exploration and self-discovery. Every twist and turn in my academic journey shaped the artist I am today.”
Ashutosh Kulkarni, Krishan Bihari Vajpayee in &TV’s Atal, said, “Originally, I aimed for the Science stream, but my college acting experience redirected my interest towards the arts. Following my teachers’ advice, I earned a BA in Sociology from Fergusson College, Pune. My steadfast dedication to learning extends to various subjects such as psychology, human anatomy, functional medicine, and history, fostering ongoing personal growth.”
Himani Shivpuri, Katori Amma in &TV’s Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, “Originally from Dehradun, I started my academic adventure at The Doon School, where I thrived in studies and dramatics. Simultaneously pursuing a postgraduate degree in Organic Chemistry at DAV College Dehradun, I demonstrated a distinctive mix of science and arts. Following my passion, I completed my graduation from the National School of Drama in 1984, highlighting that education goes beyond degrees – it’s a base for delving into the various aspects of life.”
Shubhangi Atre, Angoori Bhabi in &TV’s Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai, shared, “While I may depict the role of an innocent housewife on screen, education has always held a special place in my heart. Beyond the character of Angoori Bhabi, I am equipped with a Master of Business Administration in Marketing (MBA) degree. My academic path showcases a dedication to learning and the adaptability essential in the entertainment industry. From commercials to television shows, my career reflects the varied aspects of my education, emphasising that knowledge is a potent companion on any stage.”
