Gracy Singh and Tanvi Dogra wish everyone a Shubh Navratri
The festival of Navratri is celebrated with immense joy and vigour by Hindus all over the world. The nine days of the festival is auspicious for new beginnings. Gracy Singh (Santoshi Maa) and Tanvi Dogra (Swati and Babli) from &TV’s Santoshi Maa Sunaye Vrat Kathayein convey their wishes and share the true essence of Navratri Vrat.
Talking about the significance of the festival, Gracy Singh, shares, “Navratri, literally translated to nine nights is a time held in the honour of the feminine divine, the three goddesses – Durga, Lakshmi and Saraswati. To commemorate the same, men and women, offer prayers to them and carry out rituals performed in their honour. The fasting during Navratri is to appease Maa Durga, which is believed to bring in success and prosperity. The vrat is concluded with aartis, recitation of folklores, plays and traditional dance performances. I would like to wish everyone an auspicious and safe Navratri!”
Speaking of the Navratri vrat vidhi, Tanvi Dogra adds, “Navratri is a special occasion for Hindus across the world. People who observe fasting rise early to pay respects to the idols and submit offerings along with a special puja. They devotedly pray to the goddesses who are said to shower blessings of wisdom, wealth, and goodness. People offer fruits and meals to the underprivileged as a symbol of gratitude. They are determined to fast the entire day and break it in the evening with satvik food (holy food). On behalf of the entire team of &TV’s Santoshi Maa Sunayein Vrat Kathayein, I wish everyone a Shubh Navratri!”
