Gulfam Khan says, ‘The character in Ziddi Dil Maane Na is v ery close to the real me, almost 70 percent to who I am’!
For actor #GulfamKhan, to be working on “#ZiddiDilMaaneNa” is nothing but nostalgia as it reminds her of the time when she was shooting for another youth-based show “Remix”. Seema and #SudhirSharma’s Sunshine Production-backed show “Ziddi Dil Maane Na”, is set against the backdrop of SAF (Special Action Force), the show revolves around a young team of trained and civilian volunteers who find love while fulfilling their aspirations at the camp.
For the uninitiated, “Remix” was a youth show that revolved around the lives of four school kids. “It feels nostalgic… I did a show called Remix which was a youth-based show and this show is somehow reminding me of it every now and then. Also, ‘Remix’ ran for three seasons so if that’s anything to go by we have a long innings ahead,” Gulfam, who was last seen in “Aladdin – Naam Toh Suna Hoga”, shares.
Though, Gulfam can’t talk about her role in “Ziddi Dil Maane Na”, but all she says is that it’s a beautiful character. “The freshness along with the positivity it brought… I felt it was something I relate to in personal life, I wouldn’t want to divulge much but it is a very very beautifully sketched out character,” she adds. She further adds that she does resonate quite a bit with her character. “This is very close to the real me, almost 70 percent to who I am. So I reckon, in the next 15 to 20 years I will be a lot more like this character,” she asserts.
The actor is all praises for producer Seema and Sudhir Sharma. “I am working with them for the first time but had heard such good things about them. They come across as good people and that’s what matters at the end of the day,” says Gulfam.
“Ziddi Dil Maane Na” is set to premiere soon on Sony SAB. Sharing his thoughts on how the TV content has evolved over the years, the actor says, “Well, if you ask me it hasn’t much (changed) really. If you see the majority of shows and the high rating ones the content is more or less the same. However, if and when something like an ‘Aladdin’ or ‘Ziddi Dil Maane Na’ comes up I am glad to be a part of it because it is bit different.”
Meanwhile, talking about how the coronavirus pandemic has changed her life, Gulfam says she has started valuing basic things, including freedom. “Pandemic has done a lot of things… For me personally, it has been a process of realisation. Co-existing is a rule of the universe and when humans try to take over the reins nature decides, enough is enough. Also, I value basic things like freedom and small pleasures of life much more than I did till 2019,” she concludes.
