Hansa Singh says, ‘Good health is more internal than external’!
Though the saying ‘#HealthIsWealth’ is an old saying, the pandemic made us understand it better. Agreeing, #HansaSingh says, “By all means Health is Wealth. I would say that the virus crisis made people realise that the small and basic things in life are important for a healthy lifestyle, the fact that Basic hygiene is necessary and a must.” Health is not limited to physical fitness but means mental health well-being too, says Hansa Singh. According to the actor, everything begins from within. She talks on the occasion of World Health Day, which is celebrated on April 7.
“Health is more internal than external. Mental health is of utmost importance as it’s the one that covers all and drives our lives,” she adds.
In our fast paced life, erratic work schedules, one’s health goes for a toss. On how she takes care of herself, Hansa says, “By just saying no to all as that can wait or not needed. Plus I also squeeze in some time for my massages as that helps. But the best is to cut off from time to time. Disconnect from the world to connect with one’s own self.”
Some of the lifestyle changes that one needs to make like eating better, joining a gym etc can be costly. Ask if he is willing to cut back on a few things so that he can make room in his budget for these important expenses, and Hansa shares, “I believe in holistic living. For me eating right is important. I have my cheat meals. But all the more important is water. I drink at least 4 litres of water every day. As far as workout is concerned, I start my day with bed exercises, yoga asanas and breathing exercises. So one can make the right choice any time. There is no cutting out on a good and healthy lifestyle.”
The actor suggests that one needs their body type and progress accordingly. “If you listen to your body it will help you to achieve your goals. I don’t believe in fad diets. I believe in love and in inhaling fresh air. I don’t live to eat, I eat to live. I practise detox too. Giving proper rest to my body is also essential. A stressed body can demand all unhealthy stuff,” she says.
Talking about the things she follows and what she avoids for health reasons, Hansa shares, “Drink two litres of water, work out, drink one glass of nimbu paani, daily yoga, etc are the things I follow religiously. Three things to avoid are junk food, meeting toxic people and late-night munching.”
