Happu Ki Ultan Paltan’s Yogesh Tripathi and Kamna Pathak bond over food!

&TV’s Happu Ki Ultan Paltan Jodi of Daroga Happu Singh (#YogeshTripathi) and his Dabbang Dulhaniya Rajesh (#KamnaPathak) is one of the most loved on Indian television. The audience enjoys their rib-tickling nok-jhok and their love chemistry. But do you know what it is that they enjoy doing together? While other co-stars bond over different things, this duo prefers to bond over food. That’s some tasty fare!

Yogesh Tripathi, aka Daroga Happu Singh, talks about his love for food and shares, “Arre dada! khaano se hamara rishta sada ke liye hai. Food can lift my spirits at any time. My on-screen wife Rajjo (Kamna Pathak) shares the same feelings towards food (laughs). We both like to try new dishes, especially while travelling to another city.

Recently, to celebrate Dev Deepawali and promote our show Happu Ki Ultan Paltan among Banaras Vaasis, Kamna and I visited the city of ghats. On my trip to Devo ki Nagri, I tried one of the world’s best desserts, Malaiyyo. This heavenly dish is prepared by churning the milk slowly to create a creamy texture. The milk foam is then flavoured with saffron and cardamom and garnished with pistachios and almonds on top, and it is extraordinarily light and perfectly sweet. Also, during Navratri, when we both visited Gwalior, Kamna made me eat poha jalebi, khatta samosa, moong bhajiya, and, importantly, indoor namkeen, which I relished.

Everyone who enjoys food as much as we do should keep enjoying it”.Kamna Pathak, aka Rajesh Singh, shared, “Food has always been at the top of my priority list (laughs). I am from Indore, and you should know how well-known the city is for its delectable cuisine. My on-screen family in Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, especially Daroga Ji (Yogesh Tripathi), are foodies like me. We all sit together at lunchtime to eat food and share each other’s tiffin, and believe me, even after such filling meals, we always order something from a nearby restaurant. We have a well-known dairy near our sets in Naigaon, and we always order lassi or sweets like gulab jamun, ras malai, or paneer pakora in the evening to satisfy our taste buds. Whenever I visit another city, I like to read about its food culture to try those delightful local delicacies. I recently went to Varanasi with Yogesh to attend the world-famous Dev Deepawali, and we decided to try the city’s famous street food.

A trip to Varanasi, in my opinion, is incomplete unless one indulges in its culinary delights. Our evening began with kulhad wali chai and some delectable samosas served with tomato, pudina, and coriander chutney. We also went to a famous sweet shop called “Pehalwan Ki Lassi,” where we ate a dish I will never forget: Makhan Malaiyyo, a popular winter-season sweet dessert served in Kulhads. Normally, people finish their meals with something sweet, but the chaat stalls enticed me so much that I couldn’t stop eating mouth-watering gol gappas and the famous tamatar chaat”.
