Hiten Tejwani refutes charges of ‘Gupta Brothers’ being inspired by any show or movie
Producer duo Mahesh and Madhu Pandey’s new offering “Gupta Brothers: Chaar Kunwaare From Ganga Kinaare” is the story of four brothers and their bachelorhood. Earlier, Akshaye Khanna’s 2004 movie “Hulchul” also revolved around four bachelor brothers and so did Ravi Dubey’s TV show “Saas Bina Sasural”. But actor Hiten Tejwani, who essays the role of Shiv Gupta in the show, said that the dramedy is not inspired by any movie or show, and it has a very original storyline.
“Our show is not inspired by any other show or movie. The only thing similar is that even they didn’t have a woman in their house, but ours is a very different reason for not having a woman in the house. And I guess the storyline is completely different and original. That’s what the audience will find out when they watch the show that why are we against marriage or we are against getting married or we are bachelors for life,” he said.
From “Ghar Ek Mandir” to “Kutumb”, “Kkusum” and “Pavitra Rishta”, the actor has given some hit shows in his two-decades-long career. But this will be the first time he will be doing comedy on-screen. Talking about trying this genre, he said, “Earlier people used to give me the same kind of roles, positive, strict and a good guy. Then the trend started changing, and I even got negative characters, but never comedy. Now, I have got a chance, and luckily, the story is quite interesting, the overall graph of the character is very good.”
“All my friends and family, they tell me that I have got a good sense of humour, so I am sure the audience will love this new avatar of mine, and they will laugh a lot,” Hiten added.
The “Kasautii Zindagii Kay” actor also feels that the audience wants to see more real and relatable content, and added, “We have never heard of a TV show going to Banaras and shooting there, but we went to Banaras to shoot a couple of episodes. We must give real content to people. Good content and real content is the need of the hour.”
Looking back at the glorious 20 years of his career, Hiten said, “By the grace of God, and the good wishes of all my fans, I am very happy for my journey so far. It’s been amazing. Twenty years in the industry, and I am grateful to God and all my fans, friends, family, producers, technicians, spot boys, and makeup guys. I can’t ask for more. But yes, the best is yet to come. So I always strive for the best.”
“Gupta Brothers: Chaar Kunwaare From Ganga Kinaare” also features Akash Mukherjee, Satya Tiwari, Meet Mukhi, and Sonal Vengurlekar. It will air on Star Bharat.
