‘I have always dreamt of making films’, confesses Amit Mishra!

For Amit Mishra film making was his ultimate dream.  Amit who was born in Banaras and brought up in Jaunpur finished his graduation and his MBA in Lucknow only to end up in Bollywood.

Amit says,” Right from my childhood I have dreamt of coming to Mumbai. When I was in 10th grade I came to Mumbai for the first time. I had gone to see superstar bungalows from Amitabh Bachchan to Dharmendra and always enjoyed the experience of Mumbai. Initially, my focus was on acting, and then gradually I wanted to know the process of filmmaking. My parents were very skeptical and all they wanted was to ensure that I complete my education. I also patiently waited and completed my studies. But one person who has immensely helped me in this journey is my elder brother Rajani Kant Mishra, he has always encouraged and supported me in fulfilling my dream. He even gave me money so that I could travel to Mumbai.”

Amit also has a few friends in the industry so coming to Mumbai was quite a regular thing for him. And in one of his trips to his dream city during a work meeting, Amit met Aziz Chhapra and decided to produce 9th Floor. The film has Deepali Saini, Shahid Talwar, Geet Shah, and Puneet Singh in it. Speaking more about the film Amit says,” I liked the story. The horror thriller subject has always been my favourite. The shooting is already wrapped up  We shot in Lucknow and now the post-production is going on.” So how will you sum up your whole experience of working in this industry? “This was my first work in the film industry and I feel lucky to get a good set of people and we had a great time and overall a very fruitful experience. I am looking forward to working more and seeing myself in a long journey.”  Amit currently has his own real – estate business in Lucknow.
