‘I want to do a romantic period film with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’, says Elli AvrRam!
Ever since Katrina Kaif, who came from London, made it big in Bollywood, there are many hopeful ‘Firangis’ who made a beeline to the film industry in India to become a film star. Well, Kaitrina is one of a kind and her hard work, dedication and support system in the Hindi film industry has been instrumental in her success. One girl from Sweden, too, who was interested in Hindi films without knowing the language since her childhood, landed in Mumbai to try her luck in Bollywood. She is Elli AvrRam who is quite successful to create a niche for herself in the Indian film industry.
In the initial days Elli was clueless because of the new city and it’s unknown language. But she started to learn Hindi and started getting work in fashion industry. After waiting in the wings she landed a film, ‘Mickey Virus’ against Maniesh Paul. Before it’s release she became a part of India’s biggest reality show Bigg Boss and was noticed by the entire country including it’s host superstar Salman Khan. She started getting regular work and she played an important role in Malang which was a runaway success.Elli recently gyrated with Aamir Khan in a cabaret style song from an upcoming film ‘Koi Jaane Na’. The song ‘Har Fun Maula’ has been appreciated by the entire film industry and Elli is on cloud nine. ‘I have been getting a lot of appreciation. It’s a performance oriented song wherein my chemistry with Aamir Khan has turned out beautifully. Vishal Dadlani and Zara Khan has sung it excellently, the choreography is mind blowing and it has been picturised beautifully. I just love the entire package and love the song extremely’, Elli said.
Talking about how she landed this song, Elli expressed, “It was about an year ago, before Covid-19 struck, I was called for a meeting at the T-Series office. Aamir Khan’s friend Amin Hajee, who is the director of ‘Koi Jaane Na’ has seen my figure skating videos and he and choreographer Caesar had recommended my name for this particular song. It was already decided that Aamir Khan would be doing this number. I was a pleasant surprise for me. Due to Covid 19 situation the shoot had to be postponed and in January this year we shot the song in Jaipur. I am eager to watch it on big screen.’
Aamir Khan had praised Elli’s dancing skills admitting that her flawless dancing had camouflaged his flaws. On this Elli smilingly said, ‘it’s modest, cute and adorable on Aamir’s part to say this. He is a graceful dancer and knows how to move his body. I am happy that out pairing is looking good on screen and would like to repeat the experience.’ ‘We all did Covid tests before reaching the Zee Studios sets. As we were in a Bubble it was safe moving around the sets and we finished the song in a few days’ added Elli.
Elli AvrRam has become an idol in Europe and gets a lot of messages from girls from Sweden, especially Indian Swedish girls, and she offers guidance and advice to them. Her fans are going ga ga over her latest song and Elli feels that there will be addition to her fan base. Talking about Aamir, Elli said, ‘I have learnt a lot from Aamir. He’s such a huge superstar but is always grounded and humble. He is most human and I want to imbibe these qualities in me too. He says that people will praise you or criticise you but you must keep doing your thing.’
Talking about her dream project, Elli AvrRam says that she is keen to do a romantic period film with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. She sends lots of love to her well wishers and wishes them happiness in life.
