IBD4’s Vaishnavi Shekhawat reminds Karisma Kapoor of her childhood days!
#SonyEntertainmentTelevision’s much-loved dance reality show, India’s Best Dancer, is back for Season 4, urging everyone to ‘#JabDilKareDanceKar.’ With Karisma Kapoor, #TerenceLewis, and #GeetaKapur joining the judges’ panel as the ‘ENT’ (Entertainment, Newness and Technique) specialists, the audition round will present some exceptional dance talent from nationwide.
17-year-old Vaishnavi Shekhawat, a student who resides in Bangalore but belongs to Rajasthan, wowed the judges with her perfect contemporary moves. Dancing to the soulful song ‘Piyu Bole’ from the movie ‘Parineeti’, Vaishnavi left the judges thoroughly impressed with her moves. Having passed her boards with 94%, Vaishnavi wants to pursue a career in dancing but alongside, her father wants her to be academically and financially sound as it would enable her to train herself ahead. A diligent daughter, dancer and a student, Vaishnavi shared a little sneak peek into her life which really impressed the judges. She talks about how she begins her day at 6:00 am in the morning, meditates, gets ready to go to college comes back and finds the time to practice dance followed by studying. Even after a long day, she continues with her dance practice till early hours.

While the judges were impressed with Vaishnavi’s performance and lifestyle, her father who is very proud of her had a little complaint to share with the judges. He reveals how his daughter spends all her time at home dancing or studying and how he wishes she has an active social life. This prompted Karisma Kapoor to reminisce about her childhood days where she says, “Can I reveal a secret? I was also like Vaishnavi, genuinely. I was very ‘seedha saadha simple.’ My mom used to tell me to go out, have a friend circle but for me, it was always about going to school and coming home; that’s all. But yes, I also used to practice dance even though I am self-trained. I used to practice Bharatnatyam and Kathak and Farida Pedder used to teach in my school, so I used to go to her classes as well. Shiamak Davar taught me jazz.”
Will Vaishnavi make it to the mega auditions?
Tune in to India’s Best Dancer – Season 4 starting 13th July, every Saturday & Sunday at 8:00 PM exclusively on Sony Entertainment Television.
