IGT contestant Ishita Vishwakarma performs with a 20 piece symphony orchestra as a tribute to the late Lata Mangeshkar!

This weekend, #SonyEntertainmentTelevision’s talent realty show, #IndiasGotTalent will be hosting the #GrandPremiere episodes where viewers will see the Top 14 contestants put their best foot forward and impress the judges – #ShilpaShettyKundra, #KirronKher, #Badshah and #ManojMuntashir. Contestant #IshitaVishwakarma from #Jabalpur, #MadhyaPradesh was in for a surprise when Badshah who promised to present her with a gift in the last episode, gave her a very thoughtful yet emotional gift. He introduced Ishita to a 20 piece symphony orchestra group and said she will be performing with the orchestra group.

Badshah went on to mention that the legends who are a part of this 20 piece symphony orchestra group, have had the privilege to go on a world tour with the late Lata Mangeshkar. A member from the group said, “The first time when I went for Lata Didi’s recording, it was Hridaynath Mangeshkar recording for a Marathi film named ‘Jait Re Jait.’ There was song in the movie that required the music’s pace to be a little fast. I played the piece and Lata Didi was also present there. She lowered her spectacles, looked at me and after sometime, a coordinator came to me and said, ‘I need your passport.’ When I asked why, he said ‘You have to travel with (Lata) Didi.’ So that was my first experience travelling with Didi and it was in Moscow in the year 1978.”

Ishita went on to perform ‘Satyam Shivam Sundaram’ accompanied by the orchestra group and left everyone teary eyed. Complementing Ishita on her performance, Badshah said,“Aap us orchestra ko deserve karti hein aur who aapko deserve karte hein. Agar yeh aawaz subhe subhe koi sunke uthe na sokar, uska din kharab hi nahi jaa sakta. Thank you so much Ishita, I wish you all the best!” Furthermore, Badshah even recited a short heartfelt poem that he penned for Lata ji.

Talking about her performance Ishita shares, “I cannot thank Badshah sir enough for his kind gesture. It was surreal to perform with the 20 piece symphony orchestra that has travelled and performed all over the world with Lata Mangeshkar Ji. This is going to be an unforgettable experience and it will forever be etched in my memory! I am also grateful to the judges to have bestowed me with the title, ‘Choti Lata’. Its truly an honor. Lata Mangeshkar ji is an institution and she continues to be an inspiration to every Indian and especially me.”

Tune in to the Grand Premiere episodes of India’s Got Talent, this Saturday & Sunday at 8:00 only on Sony Entertainment Television.
