In recent times Godrej Interio witnessed 33% overall rise in office furniture business!

Godrej & Boyce, the flagship company of the #GodrejGroup, announced today that its business #GodrejInterio, India’s leading furniture solutions brand in home and office spaces, launched a trend report “Metamorphosis of the Indian Workspace”. The report revealed that with physical offices reopening, the combination of space, technology and human resource policies will result in a fruitful workplace transformation. It further states that the trend of a flatter organisation structure, technological advancements and diverse workforce that pivoted the workspace away from a cubicle-based layout to a more open and flexible layout in the pre-pandemic phase will continue. In the post-pandemic era, workspaces will play a significant role in fostering innovation and reinforcing organisational culture and self-identity.

According to the trend report ‘Metamorphosis of Indian Workspace’ by Godrej Interio’s Workplace and Ergonomics Research, remote working has altogether altered employees’ expectations from work as well as their priorities as everyone wants to work at their own time, from their desired space and on projects they enjoy. As per the recent study, over 70% of company leaders are considering flexible work at a greater scale than before, and more than half of them plan to implement the cultural changes required for hybrid work.

The report states that organisations will need to adopt a fresh and transformational approach to create spaces that supports spontaneous interactions that cannot occur virtually. The report states that, 69% of respondents miss face-to-face interactions at work, from casual conversations to formal collaborations. Recognizing this need, more than 55% of the facility heads anticipate an increase in the space allocated for collaborative work. Similarly, the organisations will have to adopt desk reservation solutions to balance space utilisation and employee schedules with health and hygiene considerations. Lastly, with the flexibility to work from anywhere, employees will come to the workspace to collaborate. This will bring a fundamental shift in the way office space is consumed.

Sameer Joshi, Associate Vice President, Marketing (B2B), Godrej Interio said “Over the last 18 months, the way work has transformed and as we slowly but steadily move back to working from an office space, we find that it will also evolve from its pre-pandemic layout. Increasing productivity, improving employee engagement, and expanding globally have always been key to achieving organizational goals. This trend report by Godrej Interio gives a window into employee expectations about how and where work is accomplished and can act as a guide for companies looking to restart operations. Organisations will have to support staff in providing new ways of working that not only bring down costs but also increase business resilience. They will need to design a people-centric workplace that will give its employees a safe working environment where they enjoy their work, collaborate, stay healthy and achieve the objectives of their organisations. In the last few months alone, we have received a number of inquiries on setting up such differentiated office spaces and we expect this demand to increase by 25-30% by the end of FY22.”
