Ishq Jabariya actor Lakshay Khurana keeps a fast for his wife on Karwa Chauth!
#KarwaChauth has long been seen as a festival where wives fast for their husbands’ long lives, but actor Lakshay Khurana offers a fresh take. The #IshqJabariya star, who portrays Aditya in Sun Neo’s hit show, believes the tradition shouldn’t be one-sided. In his view, it’s time for men to step up and fast for their wives too, embracing the spirit of mutual love and care that Karwa Chauth symbolises.
Opening up about the importance of Karwa Chauth in his life, Lakshay Khurana shared, “I also observe the Karwa Chauth fast, and I did it last year too. I feel that it shouldn’t be something only women do—men should participate as well. Last year, I was shooting for a show on Karwa Chauth, and despite a hectic day filled with fight scenes and dance sequences, I didn’t break my fast. I didn’t even drink water. Later, my wife and I broke our fast together on set—it was a really special moment. For me, it’s about equality. If my wife is praying for my long life, why shouldn’t I do the same for her? We share that responsibility equally.”
Talking about his plans for Karwa Chauth this year, the Ishq Jabariya actor said, “This year, I’m planning to surprise her with a gift—something special, but I’ll keep that a secret for now. My mom is also visiting us, and she’ll be staying until after Karwa Chauth, so this time it’s going to be a full traditional affair. I might even take a day off from shooting for Sun Neo’s Ishq Jabariya just to spend the entire day with my wife. It feels like the perfect year to celebrate properly, with no rush—just pure togetherness.”
Lakshay Khurana is married to Shreya, whom he dated for 9 years. In reel life, he plays the husband of Siddhi Sharma, who portrays Gulki in Sun Neo’s Ishq Jabariya. The show is an enchanting love story that follows Gulki, a determined young woman with ambitious dreams. It features a remarkable cast, including Kamya Panjabi, Siddhi Sharma, and Lakshay Khurana, and airs on Sun Neo every Monday to Saturday at 7:30 PM.
