It’s wrap up for Aditya Sarpotdar’s ‘Zombivli’

After unlock was announced a lot of films started their shooting schedules, including Aditya Sarpotdar’s first Marathi zombie film Shares ‘Zombivli’. “Zombivli” which is the first Marathi horror-comedy film featuring zombies, has created a lot of buzz since its official announcement. Till now we had seen zombies only seen in Hollywood and some Bollywood movies, but now Marathi audience will also be able to experience them on the big screen. Zombivli which is directed by critically acclaimed director Aditya Sarpotdar will feature Amey Wagh, Vaidehi Parshurami and Lalit Prabhakar in lead roles. It will be really exciting proposition to see these three stars together for the first time. By following all the necessary precautions and safety norms film’s shoot was recently wrapped up and the film is set to release next year.

While talking about the film’s shoot Aditya Sarpotdar said,” Our shoot started from 26th July as we got the permission when unlock was just announced and completed the shoot on 12th November. In the past 2-3 months, we faced lots of challenges while shooting and the Covid Pandemic was itself a big challenge for all of us. We started to shoot at the beginning of the monsoon, so we decided to shoot at a place where we could tackle both the monsoon and the Pandemic. So we decided to shoot in Latur as the Covid cases were few and rainfall was very less. Initially, we started the shooting in Mumbai, but later we shifted our base to Latur. We received good support from the local people.”

As now theatres are allowed to operate at 50% capacity Aditya Sarpotdar expressed his views saying, “Opening of theatres is really a positive sign. I think by the first or second week of December we will see the growth of the audience in the theatres. In this current situation, we need to see the response from the audience as well. Because we are thinking from both points of view, as a viewer and as a maker. Once we mentally prepare ourselves to watch movies in theatres, only then we will get the same response from them. Even if theatres get 25-30% audience, it will increase the confidence of the audience and automatically we will see a growth in footfalls.”

The film is presented by Saregama and produced under their film studio arm – Yoodlee Films. This film is scheduled to release in 2021.
