‘JCPKH’ actor Saurabh Kaushik says, ‘Viewers want us to deliver good laughter and that’s our biggest responsibility’
Actor Saurabh Kaushik is delighted to be a part of Binaiferr and Sanjay Kohli’s newly launched show Jijaji Chhat Par Koii Haii. Speaking more about his experience of working in the show, he says,” When I got selected to play the role of Bunty, I went and discussed the role with my director and creative team. They told me that Bunty is a crazy person for his love and after the discussion it was easy for me to make a character graph with the help of my director.” Bunty is coming from a good background and can do anything for his love Titli. He will do any kind of work no matter how difficult, his only aim is to see Titli in front of him. Bunty truly loves Titli so he never is harsh with her. He tries to make her happy so that he can stay in front of her always and impress her. Bunty’s father is very rich. Bunty is sent to Delhi for his further education. He falls in love with a girl named Titli played by Rashi Bawa. Commenting on his look in the show Saurabh says,”Bunty belongs to a rich family so he wears printed/ colourful shirts, good watch, good jeans and shoes.
Jijaji Chhat Par Koii Hai is the second season of Jijaji Chhat Par Hai. How challenging is it to shoot during the pandemic? “This is tough. After Covid19 all of us are aware, we have to work and we also have to maintain all the protocols. Honestly, our producers made us realise how important our health is for them. They have taken all precautions, temperature checks, sanitisers at every few steps, checking vitals, etc. They are taking care of everything. The set has got a lot of positive vibes. Feeling good to work with everybody post lockdown it is more fun now. Now the only goal is to do good work and make people laugh and entertain them. On our set the atmosphere is very healthy because everybody knows each other from a long time, everyone bonds with each other and everyone eats and chills together.”
He also adds,”I gel with everybody because it’s the old team but the most with Mr. Anup Upadhyay because he is like a big brother to me. Whenever I feel down or feel anxious he always motivates me. We banter like friends even though I am younger than him. He is a very good person and we get to learn a lot of things from him not only as an actor but also as a human being.”
How challenging is it to portray a comic role on screen? “Comedy is challenging because you cannot laugh at all It is not like you are always in mood for comedy but as an actor, it is your job because accepting the challenge is the biggest work for an actor. An actor will have to perform a character which he/ she is not. Right now it is not as challenging because I am doing “Bhabhi ji ghar par hain” have done Jijaji Chhat Par Hai” and now ” Jijaji Chhat Pari Koii Hai” So I am doing comedy shows back to back. People always have expectations. They want us to deliver good laughter and that’s our biggest responsibility.” Saurabh’s all-time favourite comic film is “Hera Pheri”. I really like Priyadarshan’s film. No matter how many times I watch this movie I never get bored. My other favourites are Bhagam Bhag, Chup Chup Ke and Bhool Bhulaiyaa. Apart from that I also like Govinda’s films. “Raja Babu” is one of my favourites.”
