JungJauhar, an astounding battle of Pavankhind on silver screen

13th July 1660, Ashad Shudh Pournima is the day Bajiprabhu Deshpande, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s trusted warrior, fought with a huge army of Mughals with handful of his ‘Mavlas’ (soldiers) in Pawankhind to thwart them from reaching anywhere near his beloved Maharaj. On this day, the blood soaked chapter of Maratha history was written at Pavankhind.

An event of incomparable courage and unparalleled loyalty to the king was written.

The bravery of Baji Prabhu Deshpande and the army of Bandal comes to the screen through a movie, the thriller ‘JungJauhar’. After the grand success of ‘Farzand’ and ‘Fatteshikast’, the movies based on the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj , the next film in the series is being presented by the young writer-director Digpal Lanjekar. ‘Almonds Creations’ of Ajay and Anirudh Arekar, has produced this film.

More than 350 years have passed since the bloody battle of Pavankhind. To once again enact this episode of Chhatrapati Shivaji’s time, was extremely challenging. To co-ordinate the necessary grand sets, extremely difficult stunt scenes and the technical expertise, was a very daunting task. with the same attitude and effort This extraordinary challenge was successfully executed by Digpal Lanjekar and his team. Because of the amazing experience of earlier films, expectation among the cinegoers is very high.

Along with Mrinal Kulkarni and Chinmay Mandlekar there are another 21 actors who will grace the screen. Since childhood we have been hearing about the astounding battle of Pavankhind, The expectation of watching the battle on the screen is mind blowing. Very soon the shooting of the film will be completed and it will be ready for release.
