‘Karkhanisanchi Waari’ taps into the subtle emotions we do not usually express to our family members, streaming on SonyLIV!

After a succession of outstanding Marathi narratives like #ShantitKranti, #Chumbak, #Kaasav, #SonyLIV brings yet another award-winning film ‘#KarkhanisanchiWaari’. A funny heartfelt story about a joint family taking an unexpectedly adventurous, eventful journey while trying to resolve their interpersonal differences and conflicts, post the death of a beloved patriarch. Releasing on 10th December, the film taps into the subtle emotions we do not usually express to our family members.

The film is about how the eldest patriarch in Pune’s Karkhanis family passes away, following which his siblings and son undertake an eventful journey to disperse his ashes as per his final wish. Karkhanisanchi Waari (Ashes on a road trip) is an introspection of familial relationships that question the inherited cultural values.

The film had its World Premiere at the prestigious 33rd Tokyo International Film Festival and was lauded as one of the Best 5 feature films at the festival by international film critic, Matthew Hernon.
Karkhanisanchi Waari, which has an ensemble cast that includes Amey Wagh, Mrunmayee Deshpande, Mohan Agashe, Geetanjali Kulkarni, Pradeep Joshi, Vandana Gupte, Shubhangi Gokhale and Ajit Abhyankar. The film is produced by Archana Borhade’s Nine Archers Picture Company and co-produced by ABP Studios

Karkhanisanchi Waari will be streaming exclusively from 10th December on SonyLIV.
