KBC15 contestant Rahul Pravesh Devi Kumar has unshakeable belief in the power of education!
Sony Entertainment Television’s knowledge-based game show, ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’, saw contestant Rahul Pravesh Devi Kumar grace the hotseat not just as a contestant, but as a true embodiment of the show’s spirit, winning a staggering prize money of ₹25 lakhs. A dedicated young man from Ahivaharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, Rahul was raised in a farmer’s family. His story truly captures the determination found in the heart of every small-town dreamer, and also showcased the deep-rooted love he holds for his family, especially his mother, and an unshakeable belief in the power of education.
Overcoming challenges that would have discouraged many, he has been pursuing his education through distance learning from The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), while simultaneously tutoring children in his village. Despite his initial hesitation to reveal his roots to the public, he proudly introduced Ahivaharanpur, a place previously unknown to many, on this season of the show. Representing his village on national television, he expressed pride about the fact that it would now be known because of his stint as a contestant on Kaun Banega Crorepati. Megastar Amitabh Bachchan was also moved by Rahul’s outlook on life; he admired Rahul’s humility in speaking so extensively about rural life and how highly he spoke about his father.
Furthermore, Rahul also recalled an instance that marked a poignant turn in his life. He shared that he had mortgaged his mother’s cherished bangles in a bid to secure a loan for a new bike. However, the contestant expressed his desire to relieve his mother of this burden with his winnings, honoring her sacrifices and the love that binds their family together. Reflecting on his remarkable win, Rahul Pravesh Devi Kumar said, “The journey on Kaun Banega Crorepati 15 has been nothing short of life-changing for me. It taught me to be proud of my roots and to believe in the power of dreams. I came here with a dream to settle my mortgage and return my mother’s bangles to her. Winning on this platform means I can give back to the woman who made me who I am today. This victory is not just mine. It belongs to my family, my village, and every dreamer out there.”
