Kun Faya Kun was simultaneously written, composed and sung at its recording,” reminisced Javed Ali
This week, in Zee TV’s popular singing reality show, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs, the viewers are in for a treat as popular Ramayan stars Arun Govil (Ram), Deepika Chikhalia (Sita) and Sunil Lehri (Laxman) and Mahabharat star Punit Issar (Duryodhan) will be seen visiting the sets to encourage the contestants in a mythological special episode! However, there’s more in store for the viewers. The judges Himesh Reshammiya, Javed Ali and Alka Yagnik will also be taking us down memory lane during the show, recalling some really fascinating instances from their illustrious careers.
In fact, right after contestant Zaid Ali’s KunFayaKun performance, the song’s original singer – judge Javed Ali shared an interesting fact about its recording. He revealed how such an iconic song was written, composed and sung simultaneously, that too within 12 hours. Javed mentioned, “We recorded the entire song in three breaks, starting at 8 pm in the night and completed it at 7 am the next morning. To be honest, the ‘mukhda’ of the song was ready, but the Antara was yet to be written. When I reached the studio, A R Rahman just told me to wash my hands, wear a piece of cloth on my head as a respect to God and not to worry about anything else. Irshad Kamil was writing the song side by side, A R Rahman was composing and I was singing. We did everything simultaneously and flawlessy.”
Javed Ali then went on to remove his shoes and sang KunFayaKun with Zaid on stage, leaving everyone mesmerised. Zaid revealed that his father made him watch the iconic Ramayana during the lockdown phase and how he immediately fell in love with the characters. It was the young contestant’s wish to recite a bhajan – Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram for the cast of Ramayana. Not only Zaid, but Javed Ali too, mentioned his love for the show, “Like everyone, I am also a huge fan of Ramayan. I have watched it in my childhood and even the repeat telecast of all the episodes. In fact, this time around, it was airing during Ramzan. So after reading namaz, I’d immediately watch Ramayan. Earlier as well, I wouldn’t go and read the Quran until I watched an episode of Ramayan.”
Well, with Ram, Laxman, Sita, Laxman and Duryodhan in the house, the viewers will surely witness some heart warming stories along with some special acts by the supremely talented Li’l Champs. While Ranita Banerjee will be seen delivering a spectacular performance to ‘AisaLagtaHa’i, Saksham Sonawane will win everyone’s hearts with rocking performance to ‘Tera Suroor and JhalakDikhlaJa’. All in all, the upcoming episode of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs will have a lot of melodies, memories and surprises for the viewers.
To watch this mythological-special episode, tune in to Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs this Saturday and Sunday at 8 pm, only on Zee TV.
