Lakshya, which completes 19 years, was Hrithik Roshan’s first role as an uniformed officer!

While the world awaits #HrithikRoshan’s avatar as an air-force officer in his upcoming film #Fighter, the versatile actor celebrates nineteen years of #Lakshya, wherein he donned the uniform as an army officer for the first time.

18th June marks nineteen years of Hrithik Roshan starrer Lakshya which has attained the status of a cult classic over the years.

Co-starring Preity Zinta, Lakshya was directed by Farhan Akhtar wherein Hrithik Roshan played the role of Lieutenant Karan Shergill, who later gets promoted to Captain. Tracing the journey of an aimless young man who became responsible after getting enrolled in the Army, the film is set against the backdrop of the 1999 Kargil War.

One of the earliest films of his career, Hrithik Roshan received immense praises for his performance in the film. Playing an unconventional character, Hrithik has been experimental in his approach towards films from the beginning.

Known for paying attention to details and extensive preparation for his characters, Hrithik Roshan had undergone special training to play an army officer for Lakshya.

Almost two decades later, Hrithik once again dons a uniform of the defence forces, this time as an air-force officer, undergoing special training for his role. The actor did special simulation training to familiarise himself with the operations of a fighter jet for his next Fighter, releasing on 25th January, 2024.
