Maharashtra’s Mahamalika ‘Char Diwas Saasuche’ comes back on Colors Marathi

With lockdown not going away right away soon, television channels are rerunning their most popular serials to keep their viewers entertained. Colors Marathi is re-telecasting one of the most popular serials of yesteryear, Char Divas Sasuche’ soon. It did rule the minds of every family in Maharashtra.

Mother-in-law and daughter-in-law. Mother in law was once a daughter in law and daughter in law is going to be a mother in law. Inspire of being the same person in two different roles are played completely differently. In fact they are different sids of the same coin. In all relationships, there is a little bit of conflict, a little bit of bitterness, a little bit of love, and one such relationship is the ‘mother-in-law, daughter-in-law’ relationship. No one will be able to understand the intricacies of being a mother-in-law, her thoughts, her fears.

Her ward’s marriage is the greatest happiness in a mother’s life. Every mother has dreams about her children’s marriage, her future daughter-in-law. Also based on the same storyline. Ashalata Deshmukh also has similar dreams about her son’s wedding. But what happens when her son brings Anuradha home as a daughter-in-law? How will she win Ashalata Deshmukh’s mind? How will Anuradha take care of the house? The role of Ashalata Deshmukh is played by veteran actress Rohini Hattangadi and the role of Anuradha is played by Kavita Lad-Medhekar.

Ashalata Deshmukh, the proverbial mother in law, whose word is considered the last word in the house and no one can challenge the decision she has made. Ravi i.e. Ashalata’s son goes against her Wish a marries a girl of his choice and brings her home as his daughter-in-law. Anuradha is a very simple, sensible, self-respecting girl. Anuradha doesn’t know that Ravi got married against her mother’s wishes. She comes to Deshmukh’s house as a daughter-in-law and her real journey begins. How does Anuradha manage the house, how does she cope with the difficulties that come her way?  Does she get Ravi’s support in this struggle? No matter how many differences there are between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, one thread binds them together and that is ‘family’ ‘whether mother-in-law or daughter-in-law comes from another house and make father in law’s house as their home. This thread of love for the family binds the two together and gradually the love develops in this relationship and then under the wings of both of them the “family’s nest” rejoices happily.  What will be the journey of Ashalata Deshmukh and Anuradha? How will hatred turn into love?
