‘Mere Sai’ child actor Yagya Bhasin ‘sings’ praises of Ganapati Bappa!
#GaneshChaturthi is around the corner and actor #YagyaBhasin is looking forward to the festival. The 11-year-old has his plans set for September 10. He is also cautious at the same time as celebrations would be different amid the pandemic. But as they say nothing can stop you from being happy.
“Significance of Ganpati festival is that before doing any good auspicious thing we always do Ganesh Bhagwan ji ki puja. In fact, before praying to any other God, we pray to Ganesh ji. With puja, the season of pujas or festivals starts in India,” says the Yeh Hai Chahatein actor.
He recalls how he used to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi while working on the religious TV show Mere Sai. “When I was shooting for Mere Sai, the director of the show, Sachin Ambre sir, who stay, in Malad, used to invite us home for Ganpati. So that was for the very first time that my family and I got to know about the grandeur of the festival and how it is celebrated in Mumbai. We used to do a lot of masti at his house and had the tasty Prasad,” he shares.
Yagya shares that his family is yet to start bringing Ganpati home. “But we will hopefully be able to do it in the future. We would be celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi to the fullest this year like we have been doing for the past few years, but we won’t step out given the pandemic. All celebrations will be at home with family and I will also sing the Lord’s aarti. ‘O My Friend Ganesha Tu Rehna Saath Hamesha’ is my favorite Ganpati song,” he adds.
