#MrunmayeeDeshpandeRao and #PadmashriSureshWadkar associate with ‘ALT EFF’ which celeb rates environment narratives!
In its second year, The All Living Things Environmental Film Festival (#ALTEFF) aims to bring compelling narratives on environment and the climate crisis to the audience. The festival believes that film is emotive and has the power to hit home with audiences, moving the understanding of the climate crisis from a vague concept of scientific jargon to an embodied understanding. Over the years many celebrities and known figures have associated with the festival, this year we see great artists like Mrunmayee Deshpande Rao and Padmashri Suresh Wadkar lending their support to the festival.
Mrunmayee Deshpande Rao says, “ALT EFF is the need of the hour. Today, we need such festivals that showcase the harsh realities of our time. Unfortunately, climate change and global warming has become our reality and I am so glad that through this festival, we are celebrating environmental narratives. I wish them great success and I hope that through this we can try to amend our mistakes and initiate change.”
Padmashri Shri Suresh Wadkar adds, “I am so proud of the team at ALT EFF as they have taken up a big onus to highlight through films, the environmental problems of today. The line-up of films is very interesting and I am looking forward to some compelling narratives. I am sure that the festival will be a great success. I wish them all the very best to all the participants and I hope that the festival continues to grow from here upwards and onwards.
The festival will take place between October 9th and 17th and will showcase 44 films from 31 countries and highlighting 33 India premiers. The festival brings together the creative, academic, business, activist, scientific, and government communities to engage with citizens and build collective power for environmental causes and actions.
