Musical tribute to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on Zee Talkies

It is always a matter of pride for every Maharashtrian when Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s name is mentioned. In fact the entire country should be proud of his achievements as he was the only ruler who was ruling Mughals for some time. His empire was extended till Afganistan and till his downfall, due to inner fighting, ruled more than three fourth of the then Hindustan. Mughals used to get terrorised by just the mention Chhatrapati Shivaji’s name. Entire Maharashtra’s favourite channel Zee Talkies is paying musical tribute to this Marathi warrior King.

If there is one name that can make any person’s chest swell with pride, it is that of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Known for his great valor, innovation of military tactics, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj will be remembered by people forever. Paying a tribute to the great Maratha ruler, with musical mashup ‘Ekach Raje Shiv Chhatrapati Maje’, Zee Talkies will be airing show dedicated to him on 9th August at 12 PM and 6pm.

Over the years, many shows have paid a tribute to the Chhatrapati in various dance performances and singing acts. This one-of-a-kind 3-hour show will be a compilation of all such performances that will include powda acts in addition to the above. Featuring an eclectic mix of renowned veteran singers like Lata Mangeshkar, Ajay and Atul, Adarsh Shinde, Usha Mangeshkar, and Kunal Ganjawala to name a few the medley acts will truly be a musical bonanza. In addition of this, popular actors like Siddharth Jadhav, Vaibhav Tatwawadi, and Vaidehi Parashurami will set the stage ablaze with their power-packed performances. The show would be incomplete if it wouldn’t include a few recitals of the great Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj since it was in the Chhatrapati’s era that this form was practiced. ‘Povadas’ by Nandesh Umap and Shahir Devanand Mali will mesmerize the viewers. 

A bonus to the viewers will be the narration of trivia and telecast of a few behind the scene clips of the historical drama film Fatteshikast. Directed by Digpal Lanjekar, the movie is set during the reign of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj who was ready to go to any extent to establish Swarajya in his kingdom. The World Television Premiere of the movie will air on Sunday 16th August at 12noon and 6 PM only on Zee Talkies.
