Musician and Rapper Anurag Desiworldwide recounts his musical journey!
It all began when a Punjabi singer wanted to cast him in his music video, back in 2018, says musician and rapper Anurag Desiworldwide. He adds that it was that project which was a game-changer for him.
“Music started a long time ago for me, but back then, I just used to rhyme and write. Then I saw how some of my friends took music so seriously and they started making music professionally. I used to write lyrics for a couple of them. In 2018, I came across a Dubai-based Punjabi singer and he advised me to come in front of the camera and that was where it all began!” he says, adding, “The Punjabi singer wanted me to be featured in his song as he was impressed with my style and fashion. But when we sat down for the discussion about how and what we were going to do, it turned out that I am rapping in the song. So, this is how it happened and I have always liked the genre.”
Anurag has given hits such as Sachi Gall, by Angrej Singh in 2018, Nakhra by T series in 2019, Jaanalewa and Heartbeat by Pragati Music in 2021, Dubailand by Aj in 2021 and Tauba by Zeemusiccompany in 2022.
Anurag also has a steady job and says it’s tough to balance his music career and daily life. “Balancing is really tough. Whatever time that I get off from work, I Invest my time in music. On most of my days off, I am either writing or trying to learn more music in the studio. I guess this is what passion is,” he says.
And who does he seek inspiration from? “Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh, Bohemia, Badshah, Raftaar, International -Daddy Yanky, Eminem,” he says, adding, “I want to perform in the arena’s across the world. I listen to all types of music like Indian, Latino, Afro, Arabic,Trans, rock. I guess it depends on the time and the mood too because music has a strong connection with your state of mind and your current physiological condition.”
Music has healing capacity, says Anurag, adding, “It produces sound and sound has healing properties! It touches the deepest reverberations in the human body. For example, when you are happy, you like happy music. But when you are sad, if I play the same happy music, you won’t like it because deep down your energies are not vibing with the current state of mind and the body.”
