MX Player has presented variety of entertainment in marathi language to the viewers. Now they are gearing up to stream socially relevant film ‘Masuta’ for the audience.
India is known for it’s diversity. In multiple states there are multiple cultural, societal, rituals followed by people. In remote villages the scene is still grave as perilous traditions are followed which sometimes even take away lives. In some villages undesirable norms and practices as well as caste discrimination are still followed. ‘Masuta’ is based on these follies which also brings the story of a family struggling to get education for their son. In our society, it is considered very important to perform funeral rites after death, but many people do not feel the need to perform the funeral rites. Schools in the villages still do not allow children, from families doing these rituals, to get education there. No one in the village marries their girls in these families. Even today these families are considered ineligible for any government benefits, schemes and facilities.
The story of the father and his family’s grief of wanting to educate their son against the prevailing situation and the village is highlighted in ‘Masuta’. Masuta is directed by Ajit Deole and stars Nagesh Bhosale, Hridaynath Rane, Anant Jog, Archana Mahadev, Riaz Mulani, Kanchan Pagare, Vaishali Kendale and Yash More in the prominent roles.
Watch ‘Masuta’, a hard hitting film, on MX Player, for free soon.
