“My character Kavya from Ishqiyoun is eerily similar to my real self”, admits Nishi Singh!
Nishi Singh plays the role of Kavya in Ishqiyoun. The series is being directed and produced by Payal Saxena ( Elixir Production). The actor talks about the show and the experience of working with the team.
“Working with Payal ma’am was a fantastic experience. She is very calm and creates a pleasant working environment. She is down-to-earth, despite her greater level of professionalism. Her perspective regarding things is really positive. Everyone in the production team is fantastic, and they treated us all as if we were a big family,” she says.
The main reason why Nishi agreed to take up this project is because she found the concept vivid and interesting. “The story is relevant to today’s world. And, the protagonist, Kavya, sounded eerily similar to me, which was the icing on the cake. I also liked the title that makes it sound like an out-an-out love story but then there is a twist,” she adds.
Each new project adds value to the growth of an artist. Agreeing, Nishi says, “I must say that everyone including me is going to agree with this statement. Every project makes us learn something new and helps in our growth, both professionally and personally.”
A lot of new age content is being developed these days. There are plenty of OTT platforms that are there who are creating a lot of content that are real and relatable.
“With the demand for non-traditional content, a new-age specific and more sensitive content has developed, which is better for the society. I am happy to see that people are experimenting and the audience has also become more accepting,” she adds.
Web series are in these days. “That is because they are a much better option for the director to showcase their perspective regarding a particular subject and the audience is also accepting the format wholeheartedly. Different platforms might be an issue for the audiences since they have too many options to choose from but then that also means there is something for everyone,” she says.
