Neha Joshi (Krishna Bihari Vajpayee, Atal), #HimaniShivpuri (Katori Amma, Happu Ki Ultan Paltan), and #ShubhangiAtre (Angoori Bhabi, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai) shine both on and off screen, draped in sarees that enhance their grace and charm, making them true icons of style and tradition. Their wardrobes, featuring luxurious Kanjeevarams and intricate Chikankari sarees, reflect a deep connection to India’s rich textile heritage.
Neha Joshi, who plays Krishna Bihari Vajpayee in Atal, shares, “Sarees have always held a special place in my wardrobe and heart. Recently, while promoting my show Atal in Lucknow, I got myself one of the finest pieces of the Chikankari cotton saree. This exquisite saree, one of the most expensive in my collection, is a true testament to the artistry and heritage of Lucknow. Its delicate hand-embroidered patterns and soft cotton fabric felt like wearing a garment steeped in rich tradition. This saree is so special to me that I decided to keep it at my mother’s place in Nashik. As we both love to share our sarees, seeing her wear it brings me immense joy.”
Himani Shivpuri, who plays Katori Amma in Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, says, “The most precious possession in my collection of sarees is my red Banarasi saree which I purchased during a memorable visit to Varanasi. The rich, radiant silk and intricate zari work make each Banarasi saree a masterpiece. Owning one is like having a piece of art, a celebration of our culture and the incredible craftsmanship passed down through generations. This Banarasi saree symbolizes my deep respect for our country’s cultural richness and my love for traditional Indian attire.”
Shubhangi Atre, known for her role as Angoori Bhabi in Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai, shares, “The most expensive saree that I own in my wardrobe is a blue colour Kanjeevaram. This saree, given to me by my mother fifteen years ago, is a true treasure. I reserve it for the most memorable occasions, like Diwali, where its rich hues and shimmering zari threads add to the festive splendour. The craftsmanship is impeccable, a testament to the artistry in every Kanjeevaram creation. Whenever I wear it, I feel a deep connection to our roots and the traditions passed down through generations. This saree holds immense emotional value, reminding me of the bond between a mother and daughter. One day, I will pass it on to my daughter, Ashi, carrying forward its legacy.”
