On Makarsankranti, Sonu Kakkar says, “I love having Rewadi and Till ke Laddoo”!
The year has now started with the first festival of the year and that is #Lohri. The festival which is widely celebrated across #NorthIndia marks the end of winter as farmers look forward to a new harvest season. Sharing that #Sankranti has always meant family fun, good food and a lot of sweets, even as she juggles multiple projects, #SonuKakkar ’s love for the festival has forced her to take leave and join in the celebration.
Talking about how she celebrates Lohri, Sonu says,”Lohri is a really special festival as it starts off the year, I spend it with my family. It is an occasion to rejoice, to count your blessings and to be grateful for a new harvest season. Home made food is the highlight of any festival in our family and I also love having Rewadi and Till ke Laddoo.
Til (or white sesame) and jaggery are very integral part of Indian Harvest delicacies, they are known to keep your body warm and fortified. In India, it is not uncommon to start preparing for Sankranti days in advance, the special laddoos made on this day do need bit of a collective effort. And since, they are all so worth it- you would find the entire family working together to put up a great feast!
Wishing her fans, Sonu goes on to say, “Want to wish you all a very happy Lohri and Makar Sakranti. May you enjoy and have fun with your family.”
