On The Kapil Sharma Show, Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur reveal secret behind the famous slap scene from ‘Jersey’!

While the upcoming film ‘Jersey’ is trending among social circles for its emotional narrative and brilliant performances of the star cast, a scene between the two leads Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur has the host of The Kapil Sharma Show shocked and confused! In conversation, Kapil Sharma asks Mrunal Thakur as to why does she have rough relationships with all her love interests in movies. He pointed out a particular slap scene which Mrunal initiates upon Shahid Kapoor. While Mrunal had her answers, her co-star Shahid Kapoor who came along with her to promote their film, revealed that the famed ‘slap’ took special preparation and even a call with actress Kiara Advani!

Shahid Kapoor let the cat out the bag about the scene, “Before shooting for the scene she (Mrunal Thakur) called up Kiara (Kiara Advani) and had a chat with her at length. She called her to motivate herself to slap me and asked her, “tell me what happened to you in ‘Kabir Singh’”. Shahid is standing here and in the scene, its written I have to slap him really hard! So, tell me so that I can build up the mood and the feel for it so that I can deliver on the slap. And after the slap, my ears actually felt a little numb.”

He then continued saying that she did not want to slap him at first and was making up excuses like “How can I hit Shahid” but in the fourth shot she was in beast mode. Due to Mrunal Thakur being so unsure about the slap, even Shahid Kapoor was relaxed, he could never foresee the force of the slap, “And it was in the winters, we were shooting in Chandigarh in 4- or 5-degree temperature and the slap remains with you for two, two and a half days!”
