Paras Kalnawat confesses, ‘Rajan Shahi sir assured that ‘Anupamaa’ will change my life, and I can see that happening’
Paras Kalnawat is currently seen as Samar Shah in Rajan Shahi’s “Anupamaa”. Since the show went on-air, his character has been well received by the audience. The actor confessed that it was his dream to work with Rajan, who had assured him that the show will change his life. He shared he can see it happening already as he is getting quite a lot of offers for other TV shows, but admitted that he will be loyal to the producer.
“I am blessed to be working with Rajan sir. It was my dream to work with him when I first came to Mumbai. Four-five years back I went to his office with a friend for some project, but things couldn’t work out then. Rajan sir still remembers it and when I met him for this project he said that though time things couldn’t work then, I can assure you that this show will change your life. And I see that happening,” he said.
“The demand is also changing, people want me on various projects, but I will be loyal to Rajan sir because he is the best. I have never seen any other producer or production house being so humble. He visits our sets so often and talks to us about our problem and gets it done,” he added.
The “Ishq Aaj Kal” actor also mentioned that the atmosphere on the set is so positive that even after a long shoot they don’t feel tired at all.
“We spend 13-14 hours on the set and go home just for dinner and to sleep. Most of the time we are here on the set, we have become like a family now. We watch the episodes together and appreciate each other. This set has brought us all together and is so positive that even after shooting for a long time we are still fresh and energetic,” he said.
Talking about the show striking the right chord with the audience, he said, “I believe the show is quite realistic. If not completely, then you can relate to most of the things happening in the show. The saas-bahu banter, or husband-wife issues or mother-son issues, issues like this which happens in a normal household are shown in the show and that’s why it connects well with the audience.”
“There is no masala or drama in the show. I also feel that this show breaks the barrier between the web and TV. I feel that people, especially youngsters who are not fond of fiction, watch our show with their whole family because it’s quite real and people are liking it for its realistic writing. Each character is doing it so well that you can’t say that an actor is not fit for a role. This show has made a place in people’s hearts,” Paras concluded.
“Anupamaa” features Rupali Ganguly, Sudhanshu Pandey, Madalsa Sharma, Aashish Mehrotra, Nidhi Shah, Alpana Buch, Tassnim Sheikh, Shekhar Shukla, Muskaan Bamne, and Arvind Vaidya. Produced by Rajan Shahi and his mother Deepa Shahi under their banner Shahi Productions Pvt Ltd., the show airs at 10 p.m. on Star Plus.
