Pawan Chopra agrees with Vidya Balan’s comment on reading books!

#PawanChopra agrees with #VidyaBalan’s comment that we’re mostly watching content now and not reading books. He adfs that B books are essentia. It’s really a sad state of affairs.

During one of her recent interviews, Vidhya Balan pointed out something that has become a truth of our existence. The actor said after 10 years she picked up a book to read and mentioned that most of us have to rebuild this habit as we have got used to watching content now. Actor Pawan Chopra reacts to the comment on whether because of technology and all, the habit of reading books has gone out of the window. He also shares about the last time he read a book.

“What I feel is that those who have a fondness for books will never give up on them. Yes, with so much content available, it’s tempting to spend most of our time watching it. However, nothing can truly replace the experience of reading books. The relationship established between an author and a reader through written words is unique. When you read, you create your own world and soar high on the wings of your imagination,” he says.

In fact, he opines, those who have a passion for books won’t easily replace them with watching content. “Content may be readily served like a dish on a plate, but books allow you to craft your own unique experience. Books truly are a person’s best friend. Even my own daughter, who is about to turn 19, is an avid reader and poet,” he adds.

Talking about the Tumhari Sulu actor’s comment, he shares, “Vidya might be suggesting how we have drifted away from the habit of reading. In the past, we used to dedicate special time to reading – while travelling, before sleeping, and during holidays. However, now it seems that wherever we go, people are constantly engrossed in their mobiles, consuming content. Social media has become pervasive, influencing not only families and society but even our nation. While books can enrich our knowledge with good literature, stories, poems, plays, and biographies, we seem to be restricted to shows, reels, and social media. It’s a sad state of affairs.”

For Pawan, books have always surrounded him, whether he finishes reading them or not. He explores various subjects, from spiritualism to non-fiction to thrillers.

“I read books related to topics I feel strongly about. Currently, I’m reading ‘The Good Life and How to Live It’ to introspect about happiness. I try to read some pages every day, as I could spend my entire life just reading. Books are the most beautiful thing, and I hope the young generation doesn’t miss out on this wonderful experience,” he signs off.
