Pearl Grey says, ‘Experience of being raised in Allahabad, helped me while writing Pratigya’!
Pearl Grey’s upcoming venture Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya season 2 has been grabbing much attention. The story set in the backdrop of Uttar Pradesh and takes ahead the journey from where it ended in the first season. Having grown up in Prayagraj, earlier known as Allahabad, has helped Grey, who is the writer, creative producer and showrunner of Pratigya 2, to weave a relatable story.
“I have spent my entire childhood in Allahabad, where I did my schooling and college The student years of your life which moulds your character and personality, stays with you forever. Being raised in a small town like Allahabad, I feel rooted. So while writing Pratigya, that experience helped,” she says. Grey shares that the kind of influence her growing up years have on her personality, reflects in most of her stories.
“Actually, almost everything in my writing is an influence of what I have seen in my life and the kind of people I have met. Maybe that’s why my stories feel real and not how it’s supposed to be by the books,” she explains.
Pratigya season two brings back the earlier main cast, Pooja Gor, Arhaan Behll and Anupam Shyam. Reuniting with the old team is exciting and Grey adds, “The understanding, comfort and trust is more and that’s because of the three years they gave to the characters as a writer I conceived and portrayed their parts beautifully. One common thing between us is that we all are passionate about this show. As I’ve been saying, these characters draw a lot from reality, hence you see their flaws along with their goodness. Nothing too jazzy or over the top, and all these three actors are familiar with it well.” Grey, who had worked with producer and director Rajan Shahi not just when he made his debut as a director but also in other shows, is collaborating with him for Pratigya 2. “Though my association with Rajan goes back a long way but I am working with him being the producer for the first time and I am grateful as he is the numero uno producer on Hindi television right now with successful shows like Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and Anupamaa. I love the passion he has towards his work, his ideas to make stories and even scenes interesting, his creative inputs always enhance my writing. Being Like-minded, determined and ready to go at any length to make a story appealing are the factors that make our collaboration work,” she praises Shahi.
Hoping the audience will love and accept Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigya 2 much like the first season, Great adds, “We are trying to tell the story differently this time with all-new vigour. This time too there’s much more that would have you hooked.” Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigya 2 goes on air on March 15 at 8.30 pm. Don’t miss the thrill from Monday to Friday, only on Star Bharat.
