‘PKPNRM’ actor Manisha Purohit says, “A regional connection is very important so that the audience can believe in the characters and relate to them”!
#PrateekSharmas “#PyarKaPehlaNaamRadhaMohan” went on-air recently. Featuring #ShabirAhluwalia, #NeeharikaRoy in lead roles, the show revolves around Radha, who worships Mohan, and Mohan, who is dealing with a traumatic past. Actress #ManishaPurohit is seen as Kaveri in the show and she says it has both modern and traditional elements in it.
“‘Pyar Ka Pehla Naam Radha Mohan’ is very different from the current shows on TV. While these days we see TV shows either being completely modern, or traditional, our show is a mix of both. Be it the clothing, the background, or even the references, the feel of the show is quite unique, and that’s what sets it apart from the shows currently running on TV,” she said.
Speaking of her character, she said, “Kaveri is the one who is full of entertainment with a touch of evil. She is a widow but is a drama queen and sometimes lands into trouble for what she says. She is Kadambari’s sister and wants her daughter to marry Mohan so that her daughter can enjoy all the luxuries of life.”
Manisha, who was also seen in “Rakshabandhan: Rasaal Apne Bhai Ki Dhaal”, feels that it is important for a show to build a regional connect.
“A regional connection is very important so that the audience can believe in the characters and relate to them. Everything from the outfit, dialect, location and historical references help in that. And because of that I am confident that the audience will connect and love our show as well because. The show itself is beautiful and it will definitely make its place,” she said.
The actress also revealed that for her every new project is like a new adventure.
“Every new show, every new character is like an adventure. An actor gets to live so many characters in a lifetime and with every new character or new show they begin a new journey. They get a new family, they make new friends and it’s nothing less than an adventure,” Manisha concluded.
