Prabhudheva To Play A Silent Character In Thriller Film, Mercury
Prabhudheva is all set to play the antagonist for his upcoming project, a silent thriller titled ‘Mercury’ with filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj. Subbaraj says ‘’While I was making films down south, I had an idea to make a film without dialogues. So I began writing an engaging thriller.’’ The filmmaker’s Tamil musical ‘Gangster’ won two national awards for Best Supporting Actor and Best Editing. Subbaraj does not want his new project ‘Mercury’ to come across as an experiment. ‘’When there are no dialogues, it is a challenge not only for the director, but for the entire crew. For the actor, dialogues facilitate improvisation at the dubbing stage, but with no lines, you can convey things only through your performance and that is a challenge that everybody took sportingly. ’When I approached Prabhudheva with the script and he came to know that didn’t have any songs or dialogues, he immediately came on board.’’ Prabhudheva says that the film offers a huge scope to show case one’s acting potential”.
