How was your experience working on the music video with Vishwak Sen?
It’s been a good experience working on the music video. The schedule was super hectic. I was working on the play and dubbing for my web series when Vishwak Sen connected for the song. I can only remember crazy five days of dancing 12 hours each from rehearsal to the shoot. Vishwak was very forthcoming and helpful. He would take me to the monitor to show the song edit that was happening simultaneously, so I knew what the frame was looking like. The entire crew helped me a lot and made me feel at home.
What was your favorite part of filming the music video?
My favourite part of the music video was the performance side of it. I was happy to watch myself do all that dancing. It was a tough schedule, so I was just happy to pull off a dance song. I picked up the spirit of a wild cat for the character, I enjoy picking up different traits and acting like a different person. It was a very fresh experience.
What was it like working with the director and the rest of the cast and crew on the music video?
The song is choreographed by Satish master. His team is very sweet, assistants Gokul and Veidehi. They made sure I got all the steps right. I am very grateful to them. I must add that I had very uncomfortable footwear for this song, it was excruciatingly painful to be in those shoes for five days but they eased my pain, helped me understand the lyrics so that I can bring the right expressions in.
Do you have any future plans to work with actors from the south Indian film industry?
I am always happy to work with good sincere artists. I would love to work with actors from the South Indian Film industry or anywhere around the world if I get to be a part of a good project.
Can you share any funny or interesting anecdotes from your time on set during the filming of the music video?
There wasn’t anything funny as such. Things were quite serious. There was a lot to shoot in and I was dancing throughout the stage dancing. The only time I got, I sat with my fan and ate some food for energy. To have a good friendly work environment is very important to give your best. His mother and friends visited the set in Hyderabad and were offering me sweets and fruits to eat, empathising with my high heels and hectic dance schedule, so it was a very homely environment.
How did you approach the dance sequences in the music video, and did you receive any special training or coaching for them?
Dancing has been an old passion. I have danced a lot in life, a lot of times in the mirror so, that’s majorly where my practise comes from. I do Kathak, belly dance, Bollywood dance and contemporary. The choreography required me to really stretch out my arms and dance with strength and flexibility. They taught me the choreography in 2 days. Language was a barrier. This song was recorded in two languages, so I asked for the Hindi version first so that I get the expressions better.
What upcoming projects can your fans look forward to seeing you in?
I will be seen in a web series and a film soon. Will share details when I can.
