Prateek Sharma says that Pyar Ka Pehla Naam Radha Mohan draws a very strong reference from mythology!

#PrateekSharma says his new show #PyarKaPehlaNaamRadhaMohan is different from #StudioLSD’s earlier productions. The show starring #ShabbirAlhuwalia and #NeeharikaRoy has been receiving good response from the audience.
“Most of my shows have been modern and very today’s stories, but Radha Mohan draws a very strong reference from the mythological tales of Radha and Krishna,” explains Prateek, who has earlier backed shows such as Ek Deewana Tha, Manmohini, Laal Ishq, Sufiyana Pyaar Mera, Bahu Begum, Teri Meri Ek Jindri and Beyhadh 2.

These days people use familiar words or phrases or song titles to name a show. Many believe this helps in building an instant connection with the audience.

“It definitely does because suddenly a familiar thought starts resonating in your mind and then you get invested in that show. If the show is decent, you start watching it regularly. So with that thought we have used words like Radha and Mohan. When said together, they mean the world and have a strong connection to our country’s rich and cultural heritage and Hindu mythology. Also, the narrative of the show is very simple. It is a story of a simple girl and a guy, who is unattainable for her, and how she manages to have him in her life and fill his life with happiness,” he shares.

Talking about casting Shabbir Alhuwalia and Neeharika Roy in the show, Prateek adds, “Casting Shabir Ahluwalia was a no-brainer because I don’t think there could be anybody better than him to do this role of Mohan. When we realised that he is making an exit from his former show it was an opportunity for us. We narrated the story to him, he liked it and agreed to be a part of the show. As far as Neeharika (as Radha) is concerned, we have auditioned around 30-40 girls, all of them looked great and were good actors, but the thing we were looking for was an innocent face. So, when we came across Neeharika, we were sure that this is the girl. When she came for the audition, we found out that she is very religious and takes her Bal Gopal everywhere, which is actually Radha’s character in the show,” he reveals.
