Producer Chandni Soni’s day begins and ends with music!
We all share a special connect with the music and often take a resort in the art form to find peace. For producer #ChandniSoni, music forms an integral part of her life.
“My day begins and ends with music. I can’t imagine a day without melodies. I like to listen to all kinds of music and what I want to hear depends on my mood. It varies from bhajans to ghazals to pop… My favourite singer is Asha Bhosle. I love her songs. I’m very fond of my brother Raftar’s music. I love his soulful raps… Music is a great mood lifter. Sometimes when I feel low, I just put on my favourite dance numbers and it makes me feel better,” says the co-producer of Tandoor and producer of Raktanchal.
While Chandni can’t play any musical instrument, she is happy that daughter can play the harmonium and piano. She herself was a classical dancer and a sort of part time singer.
“As a trained classical dancer, I actively participated in the annual function of my school. I sang a few times as well, but my forte is dancing,” she adds.
Remembering the times when music was only available on audio cassettes and CDs, Chandni says, “Technology has totally changed the way we listen to music. Today it’s on the phone available all the time. There are various music apps and a streaming platform like YouTube. But I miss those good old days of audio cassettes.”
