Producer Nivedita Basu would like to see Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone inside BB hose
Producer Nivedita Basu is confident that the current season of Bigg Boss will be loved by the audience. She says that the show is bound to have more viewers this time as due to the lockdown, many people are at home. “I have a feeling Bigg boss, this year, should do well. There is more audience, people are working out of their homes and so they have time to watch the show. The internet and TV have anyway taken over our lives right now. It should be good time to see Bigg Boss and get the ratings up,” says Nivedita, who has worked with producer Ekta Kapoor on shows such as Kasautii Zindagii Kay and Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi as the deputy creative director. In 2014, she started her own production house called House of Originals and has produced few shows such as Ek Vivah Aisa Bhi and Meri Awaaz Hi Pehchaan Hai.
This season is special for Nivedita. “This time I have a lot of friends inside so I am following the show. I know Eijaz (Khan), I know Nishant (Singh Malkhani), Abhinav Shukla, and his wife Rubina. There are quite a few people who I know and I wish them the best, I hope they do well,” she says.
The producer says that the show has not been able to get the cream of Bollywood as contestants as yet but have managed quite a few big names. “I think the original concept was to see these big people inside, but unfortunately they have not been able to do that, like the A-listers are yet to come. But they do manage to get a good crowd inside which gets them numbers and that’s what any TV channel would want. If you ask me, I would like to see Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone inside,” she says.
Ask her what she feels about superstar host Salman Khan’s work in the show, and she says, “I don’t think there is anyone better, his soft smile, his nathkhatpan, he manages to get people to watch him,” she says.
