Quarantine’s first film festival for short films ‘UVAA’
The UVAA Virtual Film Festival is a unique film and unproduced script festival that is being launched for independent and studio films from the Indian film industry, and has wonderful opportunities for the business of film and visual arts. UVAA Virtual Film Festival -is India’s first digital-only film festival for Independent Filmmakers to showcase their work to not just the India audience but also the global audience. Jury will have pioneers like Vinod Ganatra, Rakesh Bedi, Javed Sayyed, Hasina Kharibh, Pravin Dabas and ace cinematographer Thomas X’evier. In Patrons will be some esteemed personalities like Sahitya Akadami- Award Winner, Padma Shri award winning environmentalist, World renowned pianist, Meghalaya band Queen, World champion wrestler. UVFF’s aim is to create an opportunity for filmmakers to show their work to the right jury members and to audience and get one step closer to success by receiving recognition for their art. All entries are promoted for free through our social media and website, with a featured page of each project. All projects officially selected in will receive the UVFF official laurel and the customized certificate of achievement according to their final status in the competition. Some of the award winners will be requested for an online interview or to provide the festival with a BTS or award acceptance video statement to be published in the UVFF website.
UVFF has a very unique JURY, top celebrities from different walks of life like Social activists, musicians, theatre personality, sports man, film makers who will judge the films and score the quality and creativity of each entry on a performance scale defined in 9 parameters (from originality to technical aspects as pace, structure, lighting and sound design). The highest rated entries are nominated for the awards of the respective categories and finally are choose the winners. Awards will be given in 15 categories of the short films. UVFF is open to for Indians and global market.
UVFF 2020 will be a 100% non-profitable entity. Any profits from the festival will proceed as donations towards helping the millions fight against COIVD-19. A tie up is done with AHRI an Assam based NGO who is working in the interiors of Assam with the various communities to fight the COVID19 cause. They are trying to educate the local people and create promotional campaigns in local languages and also producing Masks in bulk quantity for the rural assam and generate the revenue for the unemployed and uneducated people to survive.
UVFF 2020 will be hosting and managing the entire festival on Film Freeway, the world’s #1 platform to discover, submit and engage with film festivals around the world. UVFF entries will open from 10th may and the final results will be come on 25th june 2020. UVFF is getting tremendous support and appreciation from every quarter on its new initiative. UVFF have approached all the film federations and film associations to join hands in this noble cause. The man behind this venture is Kamal Nathani who has spent his last 35 years in this Mumbai film Industry and has produced and directed many serials, films, Ad films and other social films for various ministries and corporate sector. He has some Award winning feature films to his credit. He himself ha been involved in participating the national and international film festivals for last 30 years.
