‘Rabb Se Hai Dua’ actor Sandeep Rajora says, “I’m not a shayar, so to get into shayari mode was a bit difficult”!
Be it the shayari or the tehzeeb or the fact that he follows his heart, actor #SandeepRajora loves to play the role of #Rahat in the show #RabbSeHaiDua. The actor says that the audience is also connecting well with the show.
“The response has been good, people could relate to the traditional Muslim culture and the Islamic nuances. Rahat is a man who follows his heart, and that’s my connect to him. I’m not a shayar, so to get into shayari mode was a bit difficult in the beginning but it’s good now. The other aspect of guilt that he carries for betraying his first wife and son is very interesting to play,” he says.
He adds, “Presently, I’m taking the character home as I want to improve on the shayari and other Muslim nuances. I’ve started listening to shayari podcasts and came across some beautiful work. I really liked Zakir Khan’s work.”
His character has a certain behaviour in the show, and the actor says that this comes naturally to him. “I come from an army background, army kids certainly have tehzeeb in their upbringing. Once my father was posted in a small station called ‘samba’ near the Pakistan border, only pak shows were telecasted there so I got hooked to their dramas and learnt a bit more about their culture and tehzeeb,” he says.
